What is live sand animation?
Live sand animation is a visual performance in which images are created and transformed in real time using sand on a specially illuminated table.
A camera captures every movement of the artist’s hands and projects it onto a large screen, allowing the audience to watch the story unfold right before their eyes.
How does a live sand art performance work?
During the performance, I create sand images live on stage while the entire process is projected onto a large screen. One image seamlessly transforms into another, creating a continuous visual story accompanied by music.
Depending on the project, sand art can also be combined with live music, vocals, dance, or other forms of performing arts.
How long does a sand art show last?
The duration of a sand art show depends on the format of the event and can range from 3 minutes to 2 hours.
For a television appearance or a short stage act, the performance may last just 3–5 minutes. For a festival, gala, corporate event, or other special occasion, a show can last 10, 15, 20, 30, or 45 minutes. A full-length theatrical production can last up to two hours, including an intermission.
The duration is always adapted to the format, concept, and dramatic structure of each individual event.
Can you create a custom sand art show for my event?
Yes. I create custom sand art shows and personalized sand animation for corporate events, weddings, anniversaries, gala evenings, private celebrations, theatrical productions, conferences, and other special occasions.
Every custom sand art performance is created specifically for the event. The story can be based on a personal journey, company history, brand, product, anniversary, important event, specific theme, or particular people.
The storyline, visual concept, and individual sand images are developed especially for your project, turning your ideas and memories into a unique visual story performed live on stage or created as a Sand Art Video.
What materials are needed to create a personalized sand art story?
To create a personalized sand art story, you can provide photographs, names, important dates, company logos, images of meaningful places, information about your company or brand, personal memories, and any other materials that are relevant to your story.
Based on these materials, I develop the storyline, visual concept, and individual scenes for your custom sand art project.
You do not need to prepare everything perfectly in advance. I will help you select the most important elements and determine what can be translated most effectively into sand art.
How is a custom sand art show or Sand Art Video created?
Every custom sand art show or Sand Art Video begins with your story. You tell me what you would like to communicate and provide the photographs, information, and other materials that are important for the project.
I then develop the visual concept, storyline, and preliminary sketches.
For a live sand art performance, I develop and test the individual scenes directly in sand on the illuminated sand table, working out how one image will transform into the next.
For a Sand Art Video, the initial visual concepts and sketches are first created in pencil on paper before the final sand animation is produced and recorded.
Once the concept and images have been approved, the project moves to the production stage: creating and recording the Sand Art Video or preparing and rehearsing the live sand art show.
Throughout the creative process, we stay in close contact to ensure that the final result reflects your story, message, and vision as accurately as possible.
Can I request changes to my custom sand art show or Sand Art Video?
Yes. Every personalized sand art project includes an approval stage, giving you the opportunity to review the concept and share your comments, wishes, and feedback.
Adjustments and refinements within the originally agreed concept can be incorporated during the creative process.
If the storyline, concept, or previously approved content changes substantially after the sketches have been approved, the additional work may be charged separately.
My goal is not simply to create a sand art performance or video, but to work together with you to develop a final result that truly represents your story and that you are happy with.
Can a company logo, product, building, portrait, or landmark be included in a sand art show?
Yes. Company logos, products, buildings, architecture, landmarks, portraits, and other recognizable elements can be integrated naturally into a custom sand art show or Sand Art Video.
For corporate events, sand art can visually present a company’s history, brand values, products, milestones, achievements, locations, or future vision.
For weddings and private events, portraits, meaningful places, personal memories, important dates, and other elements can become part of a unique personalized sand art story.
Can I book a ready-made sand art show instead of a custom performance?
Yes. In addition to custom sand art shows, I offer several ready-made sand art programs for events where a fully personalized production is not required.
These programs are ideal for corporate events, gala evenings, cultural events, festivals, theaters, and other occasions where you would like to include a professional live sand art performance without creating a completely new storyline.
You can explore the available shows on the Ready-Made Programs page.
Are the photos and information I provide kept confidential?
Yes. Protecting your privacy and confidential information is an essential part of my work.
A written agreement is concluded for every custom sand art project. It also defines how the materials and confidential information you provide will be handled.
Photos, personal stories, documents, corporate information, and other materials are used exclusively for the agreed sand art show or Sand Art Video and are not shared with third parties.
After the project has been completed, the materials you provided are deleted in accordance with the terms of the agreement.
Can I publish the finished Sand Art Video and photos or videos from the performance?
Yes. The client receives the right to use and publish the finished materials in accordance with the terms of the agreement.
This may include publishing the completed Sand Art Video, as well
as photos and video recordings from the live sand art performance, on social media, websites, or for other agreed purposes.
The specific usage rights are defined in the agreement for each individual project.
